Workshop on Measurement-based Experimental Research, Methodology and Tools
- 2nd International Workshop on Measurement-based Experimental Research, Methodology and Tools, joint initiative of the EULER and CREW projects, May 7 2013, Dublin, Ireland (co-located with Future Internet (FI-Dublin) Week)
- 1st Workshop on Measurements and measurement tools, organized by the EULER project, May 9 2012, Aalborg, Denmark (colocated with Future Internet Assembly 2012)
Measurement and associated tools play nowadays a fundamental role in iterative experimental research. The latter can be best characterized as a continuum ranging from simulation to prototype-based experiments. This role includes the evaluation of models, protocols, systems and their associated components, etc. functionality and performance by means of reliable and verifiable tools following a systematic methodology. It is also anticipated that distributed measurement and associated tools will become prominent in the context of operation and management of autonomic information communication infrastructures, at the equipment and monitoring level but also in support of higher-level control functionality such as on-line data analysis mining and diagnostic. The goal of these workshops are to bring together measurement-based experiments from various research projects and initiatives in order to share experience in measurement methodology and tools, and to stimulate debate among participants.
