2015 - September

Emmanuel Iarussi successfully defended his PhD, funded by the DRAO project. The jury members were Niloy Mitra, Marc Alexa, Tobias Isenberg, Marc Antonini.

Adrien Bousseau also defended his Habilitation on algorithms to depict shape, materials and lighting. The jury members were Kavita Bala, Marie-Paule Cani, Ariel Shamir, David Salesin.

2015 - March

Adrien Bousseau visited the InSitu group in Paris to work on data analysis for our field study on novice designers.

2015 - February

Theophanis Tsandilas and Wendy Mackay from InSitu visited the REVES group at Inria Sophia Antipolis. In addition to progressing on ongoing projects we spent a day at the Sustainable Design School in Nice to attend two sketching classes and interview the design students and professors.

2014 - June

Martin Hachet visited the REVES group in Sophia Antipolis, we discussed about the design of and interaction with physical and virtual 3D concepts.

Adrien Bousseau visited the InSitu group in Paris to perform a field study on how novice designers draw.

Adrien Bousseau visited the InSitu group in Paris to work with Theophanis Tsandilas, Wendy Mackay and Lora Oehlberg on a field study on how designers draw.

2013 - October

Adrien Bousseau, Emmanuel Iarussi and Wendy Mackay met at the UIST conference in St Andrews (Scotland) where Emmanuel Iarussi presented his work on computer-assisted drawing.

Theophanis Tsandilas, Wendy Mackay and Lora Oehlberg from InSitu visited the REVES group at Inria Sophia Antipolis to work with Adrien Bousseau and Emmanuel Iarussi on a field study on how designers draw.

Adrien Bousseau and Emmanuel Iarussi visited Inria Bordeaux to discuss with Pascal Barla, Gael Guennebaud and Martin Hachet on material depiction in vector graphics and on user interfaces for drawing.

Several members of DRAO met during the CHI conference in Paris (Adrien Bousseau, Emmanuel Iarussi, Theophanis Tsandilas, Jeremy Laviole, Martin Hachet, Wendy Mackay).

2013 - January

Theophanis Tsandilas visited the REVES group at Inria Sophia Antipolis to work with Adrien Bousseau and Emmanuel Iarussi on pen-based user interfaces for drawing. He also gave a talk on his work on pen-based interfaces for musical creation.

2012 - November

The DRAO members met at Inria Sophia Antipolis for the kick-off meeting. Participants to the meeting: Adrien Bousseau, Pascal Barla, Theophanis Tsandilas, Martin Hachet, Wendy Mackay, Emmanuel Iarussi, Jeremy Laviole.

Wendy Mackay, Theophanis Tsandilas, Adrien Bousseau and Emmanuel Iarussi also took advantage of this meeting to interview designers at Toyota Design ED².
