Re: Dynamic binding



Just this occurred to me...not very relevant perhaps.... but languages being discussed are
distributed and rather different in nature from Lisp etc. A well-known topic in distributed
computing though.

RE: A long-time, changable binding.

    You first have www.trasmeta.com bound to the IP address 209.10.41.233.

    Then to 209.10.41.235 later.

    Binding changes over time. Then I do not know 209.10.41.233 is bound to
     some fixed host or not. It may also change.

Can we formalise this? Is this dynamic binding? (I cannot still see the definition,
but here it is time rather than context  which decides binding.)

But on the second thought perhaps this is not a concern of a programming
language.  Or is it?

Well I rather think not, but such a binding surely interests me.
