Biography

Dr. Vincenzo Mancuso received his master degree in Electronics from the University of Palermo, Italy, in 2001, and a PhD in Electronics, Computer Science and Telecommunications from the same University in 2005. Before joining the MAESTRO group in June 2009, he was with University of Roma "Tor Vergata (July 2004 to December 2005), working on the SATNEX, an IST Network of Excellence, he was then with University of Palermo as postdoc June 2005 to May 2009). I also has been visiting postdoc at the ECE department of Rice University, Houston, Texas (September 2006 to January 2008).

Research activities

Vincenzo Mancuso's research has been focused on network protocols and performance analysis. In particular, he has been investigating on (i) IP solutions for Quality of Service support in Access Networks, (ii) interconnection of Heterogeneous Networks, (iii) support of Multimedia Application in mobile systems, (iv) Wireless Mesh Networks operated by means of multiple technologies, namely IEEE 802.11, IEEE 802.16 and LEO/GEO Satellite solutions, (v) Fairness in spatially biased Mesh Networks. He is now focusing on the green design of 3G+ cellular networks and in particular the optimization of power saving mechanisms.
