Abdulhalim Dandoush page

Abdulhalim Dandoush has obtained his Electrical and Electronics engineering degree in 2001 from the University of Tishreen. He received a Professional Master in Computer Sciences in 2003 from the same university. In 2005 he received the Maitrise in Information technology From INSA de Rouen in France.

He came latter to the University Nice-Sophia Antipolis and INRIA from 2005 until 2010 where he has obtained a Master Research degree and PhD in Networking and Distributed Systems. He worked mainly with Sara Alouf, Philippe Nain and Alain Jean-Marie within the project-team MAESTRO.

Abdulhalim worked at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis as associate to research and teaching and as a teaching assistant between 2006 and 2010. He filled an assistant professor position at the University of Tishreen and at the Arab Academy for Sciences and Technology between 2010 and 2014 before to join the virtual lab project between ALSTOM Transport and INRIA as an Expert Engineer for Research and Development.

His research style lies at the juncture of theory and practice. While much of his work tends to be mathematical and programming in terms of the tools he uses, the problems he seeks to solve originate from practical engineering considerations in communications and networks. He is particularly interested in determining the theoretical limitations of systems by modeling and simulation, and in determining how these theoretical limitations guide the architecture of new communication systems.

Research interests

The research interests lie in the following main areas: Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Networks; wireless communications, Ad-Hoc Sensor Networks; Communication-based Train Control (CBTC) systems; and recently in Software Defined Netwolrks/Network virtualization Function (SDN/NVF).

News:

Abdulhalim is the Chair of International Workshop on Physics Inspired Paradigms in Wireless Communications and Networks (PHYSCOMNET) to be held alongside WiOpt 2015 (The 13th International Symposium on Modeling and Optimization in Mobile, Ad Hoc and Wireless Networks) in May 2015, Bombay, INDIA.
