Re: I-Ds/RFCs on UDLR

Ram

Cisco does support UDLR today through two different mechanisms:
	udlr-tunnels, and udlr-igmp.

Our igmp scheme enables a scalable implementation of multicast over
a unidirectional link. Our tunneling scheme does not exactly match
the description in draft-ietf-udlr-lltunnel-03.txt, however it does support
unidirectional link tunneling (it's just not interoperable with other systems
right now).

We have disagreed with some aspects of the lltunnel mechanism, however
once the lltunnel mechanism becomes an RFC and it is clear which aspects
are required (hopefully the aspects we agree with), we are likely to develop an
interoperable version.

See the following for more information on our current udlr implementation:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios120/120newft/120t/120t3/igmpudlr.htm

Please contact me for further information on our udlr software.
