You are highly invited to attend to ProActive and GCM User Group, where presentations will describe ProActive and GCM.

Please register here.

Location:
The tutorial is located near the East Gate of Tsinghua University, in the FIT building (map).

Objective:
Present in an interactive way ProActive and the Grid Component Model (GCM). The ProActive middleware for parallel, distributed and multi-threaded computing is used to provide the reference implementation of the GCM (defined in the CoreGRID EU project and being implemented in the GridCOMP EU project). This will be done in the morning with simple example of use of ProActive and GCM basic features, followed by an afternoon session including more advanced features (different tracks could be held at the same time). At the end of the day, participants should be able to develop, to deploy, and to test ProActive/GCM applications.

The features to be covered include:

  • Active Objects
  • Components
  • Deployment
  • Legacy code Wrapping (using GCM component)
  • GCM Autonomic Management
  • GCM IDE and IC2D GUI

Participants will have the freedom to choose the features and the applications most significant to them, potentially their application to be solved on the GRID. The number of tutors ensures that each participant will benefit from a personal guidance. Full beginners as well as users with a first ProActive experience are welcome.

The tutorial attendees could bring a laptop for actually programming and deploying.
