Research

Yiyi WEI is now a postdoc in Gemoetrica Team, INRIA-Sophia Antipolis. Her main work during this period is focused on well-centered triangulation, particularly for the purpose of improving the mesh quality for fluid simulation using the Discrete Exterior Calculus Method. She started the co-tutorial Ph.D program between LIAMA in China and SHACRA Team in INRIA-Lille since September 2008, and got the Ph.D degree in computer science in March 2012. Before joining INRIA, Yiyi finished her Master study, which was focused on image processing in LIAMA. Her principal research activities continue to revolve around the (near) real-time simulation of medical procedures for treating cerebral aneurysms, which has a potential use in clinical training and surgery planning. This involves various aspects such as geometrical modeling of aneurysm and parent vessels, patient-specific simulation of hemodynamics, mechanical modeling of flexible medical devices such as coils, as well as their interactions with the blood flow. She is also involved in the development of SOFA framework and CGAL library as common platforms for research, integration and validation of new algorithms.

All of her research interests include:

  • Real-Time Simulation: blood flow and blood-structure interaction
  • Discrete Exterior Calculus: applications in hemodynamics
  • Meshing: Well-centered triangulation
  • Image Processing: image colorization
