Context
The industrial sector of telecommunications is in constant expansion worldwide. In order to timely follow this expansion it is necessary to provide new solutions to the problems raised in this context. The action Algorithmic Techniques, Networks and Optimization (TAROT), of the CNRS/MENRT GDR/PRC ARP (Architecture, Networks, Parallelism) was created in 1996 aiming at propose solutions to fundamental problems of the telecommunications environment based on algorithmic techniques provided by the fields of Discrete Mathematics, Combinatorial Optimization, Graph Theory, Simulation, Probabilistic Analysis and Distributed Algorithms.
In this scientific context, the Winter School on Telecommunications of Sophia Antipolis aims at the formation and promotion of the research in telecommunication under an algorithmic and computer perspective. The aims of this school are reached by basic and advanced courses and by research talks, in which different scientific themes are presented every year. These activities allow the participants (Ph.D. students, post-docs and senior researchers) to be integrated within the field of telecommunications in general, and of related algorithms in particular.
