The "combined seminars" ("séminaires croisés") were initiated in 2002 by the "Comité du Suivi Doctoral". They were organised by Evelyne Hubert for several years, and then by Juliette Leblond.

Since September 2008, the combined seminars are organised by the "Commission d'Animation Scientifique" (CAS) of INRIA Sophia Antipolis Méditerranée.
The goal of combined seminars is to favour scientific exchanges among research teams and particularly among their younger members, by bringing together two or more teams during half-day meetings (occasionally, full day meetings).
Most of the talks should be given by PhD students and postdoctoral fellows.
However, the seminars will be also open to young researchers, possibly external to INRIA.

The initiative of setting up combined seminars is up to team members and PhD students.
Occasionally (or upon request), the CAS may suggest some particular "crossings" (inter-theme crossings on a transversal subject will be notably encouraged).

The annual programme of combined seminars will be fixed, in principle, at the start of each academic year, after a call for proposals. The expected frequency is 5 seminars/year.

Combined seminars are a good opportunity for the younger members of research teams to present their work to a friendly audience and to interact with colleagues of other teams.
Participation to the seminars is open to everyone, and we warmly invite you to attend them.
