Samir M. Perlaza is an associate professor with the College of Computing at University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P), Morocco. He is also a permanent member of the scientific staff at Inria (currently on leave), a visiting research collaborator with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Princeton University, and an associate researcher with the GAATI Mathematics Laboratory at the University of French Polynesia. He received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (Télécom ParisTech) in 2008 and 2011, respectively. From 2008 to 2011, he was also a research engineer with Orange Labs (France Télécom), Paris, France. He was a postdoctoral researcher with the Alcatel-Lucent Chair in Flexible Radio at Supélec in 2011 and at Princeton University from 2012 to 2013.

Dr. Perlaza’s research interests include information theory, game theory, data science, and their applications to machine learning and artificial intelligence. He is a co-recipient of the 2026 Jack Keil Wolf ISIT Student Paper Award. Other honors include the Alban Fellowship and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship, both awarded by the European Commission.

Dr. Perlaza has served as an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Communications and IET Smart Grid. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Polynesian Journal of Mathematics
