Developments in the HEPHAISTOS project

The ALIAS library ( Algorithms Library of Interval Analysis for Systems) has for objective to apply interval analysis for the solving of systems. The development of this library has started in 1998. It is intended to be used with g++ 2.95, 4.1 and Maple V.5, 9.5

• Alias-C++: an interval analysis library (version 2.5, approximatively 100 000 lines)
• Alias-Maple: the Maple interface to ALIAS (version 2.5, approximatively 50 000 lines)

We work also on the specifications and developments on a generic software platform with the following objectives:

• an easy-to-use front-end
• to allow one to design a specific solver by describing which basic components are used and their connection
• to easily test these solvers (for example for establishing their practical complexity)
• to allow the collaboration between solvers
