Emphysema

Description:

Emphysema is a pulmonary disease that can be detected as regions of low attenuation in CT images. In this study, we calculate the percentual part of these regions and visualize the spatial distribution inside the lungs.

Data:

2 single breath hold spiral CT acquisitions. Courtesy of Dr. Sedat (CH Antibes).

Segmentation:

Thresholding for lungs (-284 HU) and emphysemas (-910 HU) and manual editing.

Reconstruction:

91399 triangles and vertices
