August 20, 2014: The net-Xperiment future magazine has been published by the European Commission’s CONNECT Directorate.
This magazine contains a selection of the FIRE facility projects, experimentation projects, pilot and demonstration projects, and FIRE related international projects are presented there. You can find several examples of the experimentation that has been successfully undertaken in FIRE. Also the future challenges and aspirations, the FIRE vision for 2020 and beyond, are included.
See in particular the article entitled Routing for the Internet's growth (page 21).

April 27 - May 2, 2014: EULER demo on "On the experimentation of the novel GCMR multicast routing in a large-scale testbed" (Infocom2014) will be presented at the IEEE Infocom 2014 - Demo session. The demo is programmed on Tuesday 29 April from 13:00 to 16:00.
April 28, 2014: The article "Development and experimentation towards a multicast-enabled Internet" (GI2014) will be presented at the 17th IEEE Global Internet Symposium - IEEE Infocom 2014 workshop.

September 23-25, 2013: Plenary meeting held at Alcatel-Lucent Bell (Antwerp, Belgium).
July 1-5, 2013: EULER organizes its Summer School 2013 on Graph and routing dynamics: models and algorithms at UPC (Barcelona), Spain. Registration is now open.
June 17-20, 2013: Sergio Ricciardi visited A-LBELL, Antwerp, Belgium.
April 8-10, 2013: EULER participates in the 10th edition Future Internet Assembly at Dublin, Ireland and presents the GCMR experiment demo at the Hands on FIRE event: the purpose of the proposed experiment is to demonstrate that GCMR re-routing can be performed without waiting for unicast routing state convergence and thus improves gain in tree (re-)convergence time compared to the currently deployed BGP + PIM multicast routing.

April 7, 2013: EULER organizes the 2nd International Workshop on Measurement-based Experimental Research, Methodology and Tools FIRE pre-FIA Workshop in Dublin, Ireland.

February 6, 2013: EULER organizes the 2nd International Workshop on Measurement-based Experimental Research, Methodology and Tools FIRE “pre-FIA Workshop” in Dublin on May 7, 2013.
January 31, 2013: EULER sets up the Measurement Tools and Dataset Repository website at www.mtoolsanddata.org.

May 9, 2012: in the framework of the EULER dissemination activities, Dimitri Papadimitriou and Davide Careglio organize the FIRE thematic workshop Measurements and Measurement Tools to be help in Aalborg, Denmark during the FI week (May 7-11, 2012). Mar.8-9, 2012: Technical meeting dedicated to Routing Algorithmic will be held on March 8-9, 2012 at the Univ.Bordeaux I, France.
Feb.28, 2012: 7th FIRE newsletter published. It informs about upcoming events, in particular the next Open Calls from BonFIRE and OFELIA, and FIA-Aalborg, where FIRE projects will be prominent in the workshops on 9 May and with many demonstrations on 10 May, under the slogan “Hands on FIRE!”. FIRE is also participating in the “Smart City Infrastructure” session on 11 May. This Newsletter also contains information from recent events, such as the symposium on New Generation Networks and Future Internet (19 January, Tokyo), at which the details of an upcoming coordinated EU-Japan Call were discussed.
Feb. 1, 2012: First meeting between OFELIA and EULER held in Barcelona, Spain. Scope of this meeting is to establish a possible collaboration on using the OFELIA experimental platform and improving their facility with the EULER tools. Davide Careglio and Salvatore Spadaro from EULER and Marc Suñé and Leonardo Bergesio from OFELIA participate to this meeting.
Jan.26, 2012: Davide Careglio (UPC) attend the FIRE Architecture Board meeting in Brussels, Belgium.
Jan. 15, 2012: In the context of collaboration between the OFELIA OFELIA and EULER project, tests were executed at IBBT to enable Quagga-based routing scheme experimentation on the OFELIA platform using RouteFlow as a virtualization platform. The succesful outcome of these tests enables the execution of emulation experiments of EULER on the OFELIA platform.

This two-day meeting is dedicated to the activity progress/update, the coordination of research activities as well as synchronization among partners involved in the following tasks: WP3 T3.1, WP3 T3.2, WP2 T2.1, and WP4 T4.1.
