CT scanning in CJD has only been reported to show non-specific atrophy, and even this is not a common feature of CJD
Isotope scans (PET and SPECT) have been described to be abnormal in some case reports, but again the findings are non-specific
Several case reports describing MR abnormalities in sporadic CJD (sCJD) appeared from 1988 onwards
