Areas of interest

Analysis of plant structures at different scales
  • Analysis of shoot elongation and structure,
  • Analysis of branching structures (branching motifs and zones),
  • Analysis of whole plant structure and development relying on the notion of physiological state,
  • Analysis of the influence of environmental factors on plant structure and development,
  • Analysis of root development.
Analysis of plant structures at different scales
  • Integration of empirical stochastic sub-models and process-based sub-models within plant morphogenesis models.
Software for plant modeling
  • V-Plants: software plaform of the Virtual Plant team (evolution of AMAPmod),
  • ALEA: a scalable, modular and open software platform for plant modeling and simulation.

Research themes

  • Underdispersion in longitudinal count data,
  • Variable-order Markov chains, lumped processes constructed from Markov chains and motif analysis,
  • Renewal processes, semi-Markovian processes and censoring,
  • hidden Markovian models and analysis of homogeneous zones within sequences and trees,
  • Markov switching (generalized) linear mixed models and modeling of the influence of environmental factors and inter-individual heterogeneity,
  • change-point detection models and algorithms for sequence segmentation.

Teaching

  • Master course on Stochastic modelling in biology. Class for 2nd year graduate students. Master in Biostatistics (Universities Montpellier I and II, Agro-Montpellier).
  • Master course on Modeling in plant science. Class for 2nd year graduate students in collaboration with C. Godin and C. Jay-Allemand (U. Montpellier II). Master in Biotraçabilité, Biodétection, Biodiversité, University Montpellier II.
