hereinafter "the Software".
The software has been developed by researchers of the Tropics team
at INRIA (Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et Automatique):

INRIA holds all the ownership rights on the Software.
Successive versions of the Software has been registered with
the Agence pour la Protection des Programmes (APP) under registration numbers
IDDN.FR.001.040038.000.S.P.2002.000.31235,
IDDN.FR.001.040038.001.S.A.2002.000.10600, and
IDDN.FR.001.040038.002.S.P.2002.000.10600.
The Software is still being currently developed. It is INRIA's aim
for the Software to be used by the scientific community so as to test it,
evaluate it and improve it.
INRIA freely grants the non exclusive right to use the Software for
academic research purposes only. Commercial use or exploitation
require a fee and a license to be signed with INRIA. See below for procedure.
Redistribution of the software to third parties is not authorized.
The Software is provided only as binary code and decompilation procedures are strictly
forbidden.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES,
INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY

Downloading :
The process for downloading Tapenade depends on the intended usage:
- Academic usage: This is using Tapenade for nonprofit academic research or education,
and in particular without selling the programs produced by Tapenade.
INRIA freely grants the right for academic usage to any academic institution
upon simple request, which is done by just filling in
this questionnaire and accepting the license.
- Industrial usage: This is using Tapenade inside an industrial company,
with the goal of improving the company's processes and products,
but without actually selling the programs produced by Tapenade.
This usage requires an industrial license.
As of november 2009, the fee for an industrial license is fixed to
three thousand Euros (3000 E) for 5 years and one site.
Please contact INRIA if such usage is desired, providing answers to
these factual questions for the license.
- Commercial usage: This is selling the programs produced by Tapenade.
This usage requires a commercial license.
As of november 2009, the fee for a commercial license is fixed to
nine thousand Euros (9000 E) for 5 years.
Please contact INRIA if such usage is desired, providing answers to
these factual questions for the license.
- Evaluation usage: This is using Tapenade on test cases to experiment
and evaluate the quality of its results. This can also be for educational purpose.
This usage must be restricted to a reasonably short period of time,
and must be nonprofit.
Just follow these simple steps.
- Regular Upgrade: If you already have a license, you don't need to
go through the licensing again to download a newer version. Just retrieve the e-mail you have
received upon licensing and follow again the indications
in the README.html file.
Licenses give access to all further releases and upgrades of Tapenade.
Licenses give no formal right to any specific support.
However, the developers of Tapenade

their problem reports and remarks as to the use of Tapenade.
Fees mentioned above do not include VAT.
