Bio:

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1966.  After his undergraduate studies in Physics in the University of Buenos Aires, he  moved to Barcelona, Spain, to complete a PhD in Physical Sciences (in the field of Aerospace Engineering - Computational Mechanics) in the UPC , at CIMNE - RMEE. As a Post Doctoral researcher, during the years 2000-2001, he  held a Marie Curie Fellowship from the European Commision in the Pôle Scientifique, a joint research unit of Dassault Aviation and the UPMC (Paris VI), in the outskirts of Paris, France.  Currently, he is Post Doctoral researcher in the INRIA (Institute National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique) in Sophia-Antipolis (INRIA Sophia-Antipolis link).

Research interests:

Researcher in the field of  Computational Fluid Dynamics and with a physicist's background, his interests cover a wide range in Computational Mechanics problems: compressible flows simulation, general algorithms of fluid mechanics, optimization, multigrid, higher order elements, turbulence, as recorded in his publications.  He has developed several fluid mechanics codes for  in/compressible flows, turbulent/laminar flows, optimization, multigrid. He is also interested in biophysics simulations, particularly incomputational neuroscience.

Work in INRIA Sophia-Antipolis: Sonic Boom Optimization

See a complete and up-to-date summary of this project here: Sonic Boom Optimization.

Currrently "Ingenieur Expert" as Post Doctoral researcher in INRIA Sophia - Antipolis, in the "Projet Tropics", his research task is to develop shape optimization techniques for supersonic flows coupled with structures in aerospace applied research. The goal is to optimize the wing shape of a supersonic aircraft in order to reduce the so-called sonic boom produced by the shock wave ahead of the plane, which has a dramatic acoustic environmental impact. The target geometry is provided by Dassault Aviation and it corresponds to a projected Supersonic Bussiness Jet.

This research work takes part in the project "Numerical Optimization of Acoustic and Aerodynamic Performances for a Transport Supersonic Aircraft", in collaboration with the Montpellier University and Dassault Aviation, and it is granted by the French Ministries of Transport and Research.
