Wireless communication channels fluctuate heavily over time according to environment variations. Therefore, to avoid capacity bottlenecks under adverse conditions, operators highly over provision capacity during network planning. Nevertheless, the task of implementing better wireless network solutions is not just a matter of adding bandwidth, which would certainly imply a prohibitive cost, but it also involves a complex decision aiming at enhancing network's reliability. In this work, we investigate on optimizing bandwidth allocation for reliable fixed broadband wireless networks under link outage probability. We introduce (joint) chance-constrained integer linear programs to tackle this problem. Linear programs with joint chance constraints are, in general, difficult to solve because the feasible region is not convex. We then propose integer programming formulations and present valid cutset-based inequalities for this problem. Some preliminary computational results are presented.
