Entrepreneurial Design Thinking – A Living Lab Methodology for Scientific Entrepreneurship
The objective of this research contribution is to conceptually analyze the potentials of entrepreneurial design thinking as being a new methodology for Living Lab concepts, here especially for supporting the field of scientific entrepreneurship. Looking at the similarities of Living Lab concepts, it becomes obvious that users are co-designers of new products and services in multi-contextual environments supported by respective methodologies and tools. Accordingly, methodologies which support Living Lab concepts have a strong link to design per se and respective design tools which support user-related openness and multi-contextuality, as it is the case with entrepreneurial design thinking. The results of our work show that the characteristics of entrepreneurial design thinking can enhance scientific entrepreneurship by supporting respective action fields of scientific entrepreneurship. Based on this potential, entrepreneurial design thinking comments itself as a methodology in order to support Living Lab concepts for scientific entrepreneurship.
