What is VIGIE ?

VIGIE (Visualisation Generale Interactive d'Ecoulements) is a software developped at INRIA for comparing the numerical results of simulations in the framework of workshops about hypersonic speed simulation and magnetic filed simulations. The software features powerful tools for the visualisation of numerical results in 1-D, 2-D and 3-D. VIGIE has been developed using X11 and Motif and run under most unices.

Download the software

Binaries for the following architectures are available free of charge (but with no warranty) from our anonymous ftp server. Here are some direct links to install the software in a few steps:

1. Download the executable software (current version 1.6) for your architecture:

We also provide two useful programs which can help you to check the format of your data files.

• verify_hdb.c check a file in HDB format (mesh and values on the mesh)
• weedb.f a template for writing meshes for the EEDB databse

Documentation

The VIGIE User Guide has been fully rewritten and is available on-line. It provides a full description of the sofware written as a tutorial, as well as the description of the data formats known to vigie. This manual is available in 2 formats:
