Summary of WG meeting (minutes will follow)

The UDLR WG had a short meeting on Tuesday March 28th.
The main item in the agenda was the security issues section
in the draft. The working group meeting was preceeded by a meeting
with J. Schiller (security area co-director), in which the possible
security holes of udlr were discussed. In the WG meeting, the following
text was proposed to be integrated in the security section, in order to
respond to the AD request.

"Routing protocols running on top of udlr MUST use authentication mechanisms
when available in order to avoid propagation of fake routing information
on a wide area scale.
Security holes are not well identified today. However, as the lltm uses
GRE, it is expected that GRE tunnels authentication mechansim combined
with a specific link layer mechanism on the forward link will help to
enhance security in udlr environment."

A new version of the draft will be issued very soon. (Next week)
and will be sent to the list and to ADs. if the security considerations
are OK (which in principle should be the case) the draft will hopefully
proceed to proposed standard.

The WG also discussed future work items that need to be done and
that may require a re-charter of the group. However, this would be the case
after a few months period to get experience with deployment.
D. Oran proposed the udlr group to go to sleep in this period.
