Welcome to Jahanzeb @ I N R I A!

Welcome to my home page @ INRIA (visit my official web site www.jahanzeb.com). My name is Jahanzeb Farooq (mostly people know me by my nick Tippu). I am from Pakistan. I am working here at INRIA with PLANETE team as an R&D Software Engineer.

I joined INRIA in October 2006. Before joining INRIA I completed my M.Sc in Computing Science from Umea University, Sweden and worked there as a research assistant for short time. Before pursuing post-graduate studies, I completed Bachelor in Computer Science (2000-2004) from Hamdard University, Pakistan.

I am working on design and implementation of simulation software for wireless broadband network technology IEEE 802.16 WiMAX. The simulation model will be integrated into NS-3, a next generation discrete-event network simulator software. My job responsibilities include analysis and design of the WiMAX MAC architecture and the development of complete MAC layer. The development will be done in C++ since the target software NS-3 is developed in it. Read details here.
