Role of the partner

UTS will participate in WP A and WP D. The research work carried out at UTS will investigate:

1. the decomposition of the upper layer protocols into self contained (generic) protocol functions.

2. the inter dependencies between these generic protocol functions, and the possible methods of incorporating ILP techniques.

3. the viability of adaptive (dynamic as well as at connection establishment) protocols in terms of the associated overheads, effects on the end system resource usage, and ease of implementation.

4. the metrics that could be used to trigger the adaptation process.

5. the interactions between the application and the communication subsystem, and the synthesis of the protocol stack.
