Eco Systems in Virtual Reality Applications
Due to their tremendous complexity, eco systems are a big challenge for
graphics applications. Essentially every outdoor virtual reality application
requires to display trees, flowers, grass and other natural objects, both
believably and interactively.
In a collaboration with the University
of Dresden, we developped a system for the interactive visualization
of landscapes generated with the eco system modelling tool
xfrog.
With our current version we can render even highly complex scenes with
more than 100 million triangles within a single view at interactive rates.

an Nvidia GeForce3 graphics accelerator at 2 to 10 frames per second.
