About my research activities...

  • I am a PhD candidate in computer and biological vision at INRIA in the NeuroMathComp Lab co-advised by T. Vieville and F. Chavane.
I am interested in developing a biophysical cortical column model for optical signals analysis. More precisely, my thesis work
focuses on the Voltage-Sensitive Dyes Imaging (VSDI) method (see here for a review on the VSDI technique) and i am trying to find the biological sources of the optical signal, since this question remains unresolved in the literature.
For the construction of the model, i am using the NEURON sofware, very powerful tool to create and use biophysical models of neurons and networks of neurons. I am also using the NEUROCONSTRUCT software for the visualization. Related posters and papers are available in the publications section.

  • I was also interested in neural networks for computation mechanisms in cortical areas. More precisely, cortical maps code vectorial
parametric quantities computed by networks of neurons. In computer vision, similar quantities are efficiently calculated using
partial differential equations implementations which define regularization process, allowing to obtain a well-defined estimation of these quantities.
As such it may be linked to what is processed in a cortical column of the brain and provides a biological plausible model of cortical maps computation.
My Master's thesis and related papers are available in the publications section.
