Bio :
Paul Roe is an Associate Professor at the Queensland University of
Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia; there he leads the Programming
Languages and Systems research group. His teaching and research
interests lie in the areas of programming languages and distributed
computing. For the past two years he has been working with his
colleagues on projects revolving around web services and Microsoft's
.NET platform.
Abstract :
Web services are currently a hot topic in IT. In this talk I will
introduce several projects at QUT which involve web services, including
web service adaptation, G2: a framework for cycle stealing computation
utilising .NET and web services, and web service agents: mobile agents
for the web. I will also discuss some new developments in web services
including GXA and OGSA, and some of the current problems and issues with
web services. I will also describe QUT and opportunities for visiting
researchers.
