Research activities

My research activities were mainly on Computer Vision and Image Processing. Within the Odyssee. project, I am now mainly concerned by conducting research in Computer Vision, Biological Vision and the exploration of the brain with such tools as Diffusion MR Images, contributing to push forward the state of the art in computer vision and biological vision and fill the gap between these two important domains. My research activities are published in
  • internationals journals
  • internationals conferences
  • research reports .

These publications are sorted in the following topics ~:

    • Variational approaches and PDE's for Biological Vision

These are my most recent contributions.
    • Diffusion Magnetic Resonance Imaging : Estimation, Regularization and Segmentation of DT-MRI, Cerebral Connectivity Mapping - See my publications with my PhD students "C. Lenglet", "M. Descoteaux" and former student "D. Tschumperle"
    • PDE's based Regularization of multivalued Images and Applications - see my publications with my former student "D. Tschumperle"
    • Cue integration and Front Evolution in Image Segmentation - Level-set based techniques for multi-valued image segmentation - See my publications with my student "M. Rousson"
    • Non-flat image regularization and segmentation - See my publications with my current student "L. Lucero"

    • Variational approaches and PDE's for Computer Vision

    • Contributions to Image Restoration and Image Sequence Analysis : A common variational framework for scalar image regularization and its mathematical analysis and applications - See my publications with my former student "P.Kornprobst"
    • Geodesic Active Region and Level-set techniques for scalar image segmentation, texture segmentation and motion analysis : see my publications with my former student "N.Paragios"

    • 3D Vision and Geometry - Early Vision and model based approaches
These contributions were developed within the Robotvis research team where I addressed the following topics :
      • Calibration and auto-calibration - Fundamental matrix - Stereovision - Robust matching - 3D Reconstruction with uncertainties - Motion analysis and tracking - Mosaicking - Recovering and Characterizing Image Features with a model-based approach,
      • Curved image features, On Parametric Deformable Models in Computer Vision: 2D Curve Tracking - Optimal edge detection - Points of interest - Singularities - Double and Triple junctions - Recursive filtering - Fast algorithms for level vision -
      • See my publications with my former students B. Bascle, T. Blaszka, L.Lucido, F. Taillandier and other colleagues of the Robotvis research team with whom i collaborated : O. Faugeras, T. Papadopoulo,Z. Zhang,N. Navab,I. Zoghlami...
