How to run the sources of the compiler on Windows:

The easiest way is to install the Cygwin: 
http://cygwin.com/install.html

During the installation you will get the "Select Packages" window. Choose the "Devel" category, in this category choose "gcc" and "make" packages.
You can also choose the "emacs" package in the "Editors" category for your favourite editor.
