ADT OrbiCGAL

OrbiCGAL is a software project supported by INRIA as a Technological Development Action (ADT) of INRIA Sophia Antipolis -- Méditerranée.
It is motivated by applications ranging from infinitely small (nano-structures) to infinitely large (astronomy), through material engineering, physics of condensed matter, solid chemistry, etc

The project consists in developing or improving software packages to compute periodic triangulations and meshes.

A particular care will be put on the quality of the code and design. The software will be extensively tested, validated, and carefully documented.
The packages will be submitted to the CGAL editorial board for inclusion into CGAL, the Computational Geometry Algorithms Library

September 16, 2013. Aymeric Pellé starts working for OrbiCGAL as a young engineer.

February 2014. A new function for location in periodic regular triangulations is submitted for integration into CGAL. It is approved in March.

March 2014. A new functionality for multi domains in the CGAL 3D mesh generator is submitted for integration into CGAL. It is approved in May.

October 2014. CGAL 4.5 is released. It contains the two new small features.

October 2014. Aymeric presents our work at the International Meshing Roundtable in London.

June 2015. New functionalities for 3D periodic triangulations are submitted for integration into CGAL. They are approved in June.
July 2015. 3D periodic regular triangulations are submitted for integration into CGAL.
August 2015. Organization of the Workshop on Computational geometry in non-Euclidean spaces.

ADT P3M3 has allowed to integrate the work into CGAL.
