Work Experiences
2008-2009 Research Engineer at INRIA Sophia-Antipolis, Asclépios research team (2 years):

Subject: Developments in the SOFA framework (C++) in the goal of implementing a demonstrator of simulation of radiofrequency ablation in order to remove sources of cardiac arrhythmia in the heart.

Description: During those years, several tools have been developed/improved (C++, XML, Qt):
  • Dynamic architecture of topological aspect of physic objects (from a mesh loaders factory to the handle of topological modifications throw storage and visualization of these topological objects).
  • An incision method in triangular meshes.
  • Reaction-Diffusion model for charge transfer in the heart with the handling of mechanical coupling.
  • Creation of a radiofrequency ablation simulation demonstrator using haptic devices from Mentice : Xitact IHP and ITP.
  • Creation of a resection and suturing simulation demonstrator using also the same haptic devices.
  • A follow-up of the project as development engineer: code maintenance, documentation, tutorials and also set up of plugins and a SVN repository.

2008 End of study internship at INRIA Sophia-Antipolis, Asclépios research team (6 months):

Subject: Interfaces development for medical imaging applications in the framework of the Multiple Sclerosis disease.

Description: This internship can be split into two projects both depending on the same algorithm (C++) of multiple sclerosis brain MRI segmentation in patient MRI.
  • The first one consist in dividing this algorithm into several Web-Services (stand alone application, with Shell scripts and XML descriptions) to deploy the corresponding workflow on the computing EGEE Grid.
  • The second consist in implementing the same algorithm and a graphical interface in the software SepINRIA (C++, VTK, wxWidget), developed by the Asclepios team. This module has to be also cross-platform (Unix, Windows and Mac).

2007 Second year internship (3 months): University of Western Ontario, department "Mechanical and Materials Engineering", Ontario Canada.

Subject: Study and analysis of the acceleration of thermal convection in a Newtonian fluid between two heated plates, the upper plate being corrugated.

Description:
  • Study of the physic problem and writing of the comportment equations (Navier-Stokes and heat transfer).
  • Then, implementation of the retained resolution scheme (Galerkin projection method) in the software Maple.

2006 First year Internship (6 weeks): R&D Department of the firm MASTERFOOD, Alsace (67), France.

Subject: Verification of the performances of a traceability software system in food product production.

Description:
  • The goal of this internship was to collect some products all along the production line, in order to confront their identity as well as their position on the line to data given by the software.
  • Writing of tutorials and a documentation of this software.

Language exchange program:
2002 2 weeks in Dublin, in a private school in order to prepare the Cambridge exam.
2001 2 weeks in Chicago, United States, in a family within the framework of the European class.
2000 3 weeks in Germany (exchange with a German student) within the framework of the European class.
2 weeks in Bournemouth, England, in a private school.
Projects
2007-2008 End of study project (3 months):

Subject: Shapes detections in images (Matlab & C++).

Description: Texture detection in a simple image. Then, detection of the same texture in others images more complexes (filled with different textures) using the Principal Component Analysis procedure.

Third year option projects:

Subject: Cybernetics and informatic algorithms.

Description:
  • Implementation of a Neural Network algorithm in C++.
  • Implementation of a Genetic Algorithm in C++.
  • Creation and communication with a SQL database (website in PHP & SQL).

2006-2007 Second year project (2 months):

Subject: Creation of an interactive interface in Visual Basic for Fortran programs.

Description: Creation of an interface in Visual Basic allowing to execute Fortran programs with given parameters and get back results to draw them in the interface.
