Sea, Salt & Sun
Geography
The Camargue is a large triangular area in the south of France in the delta of the Rhône. This still preserved region is a marshy island bounded by two branches of the Rhône and the Mediterranean Sea.
The biological diversity of the Camargue is exceptional, and it is home to unique breeds of Camargue Horses and Camargue Bulls, and to more than 400 species of birds including Pink Flamingoes.
You couldn't miss them
The best way to explore*
* An alternative is horse riding, but I definitely prefer to let the Camargue horses to the gardians (local cowboys). |
Possible mistakes
This is not snow slopes but salt heaps. |
|
This is not a beaver but an invading cousin imported from South America, called ragondin (Myocastor coypus). |
|
This is not my skin burned by the sun but a dried out marsh |
