In October 2014 I obtained my Ph.D. in Image Processing in the Morpheme Research Team, a joint team between INRIA Sophia Antipolis, CNRS and the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (France). I worked under the supervision of Xavier Descombes (INRIA) and in close collaboration with biologist Florence Besse (IBV). My thesis is available here. I was also a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Informatics of the University of Nice.

I have a MSc in Computational Biology and Biomedicine (UNSA / INRIA / CNRS) and an Electrical Engineering degree (Universidad de la Republica). I also worked as an Integration Engineer in Ericsson (in Montevideo, Uruguay) and as a Research Assistant in the Electrical Engineering Department of the Universidad de la Republica (Montevideo, Uruguay).

My current research involves the morphological analysis and classification of axonal trees segmented from 3D confocal microscopy images of neurons. The long term goal of my work is to provide biologist tools to analyze the causes of neurological diseases such as Fragile X Syndrome.
