CALL FOR PAPERS (I-SPAN'2000) International Symposium on Parallel Architectures, Algorithms and Networks December 7-9, 2000 Dallas/Richardson; Texas, USA SCOPE OF SYMPOSIUM: The International Symposium on Parallel Architectures, Algorithms, and Networks (I-SPAN) is a forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners throughout the world to exchange ideas and research results related to the design, use, analysis, application of parallel architectures, algorithms, networks, telecommunication, and internet technology. The first four symposia were held in Kanazawa, Japan, on December 14-16, 1994; in Beijing, China, on June 12-14, 1996; in Taipei, Taiwan on December 18-20, 1997; and in Perth/Fremantte, Australia on June 23-25, 1995. The fifth symposium, I-SPAN'2000, will be held in Dallas/Richandson, Texas, USA on December 7-9, 2000. I-SPAN'2000 will include invited/contributed papers, keynote addresses, workshops and presentations by designers and research scientists of on-going projects on parallel computing, internet networks, and telecommunications. Relevant topics include (but not limited to) the following: * Parallel Architectures * Parallel and Distributed Algorithms * Massively Parallel Processing Systems * Interconnection Networks * Mapping and Scheduling * Algorithms for Routing and Communication * Parallel and Network Computing * Optical Interconnections and Computing * Fault Tolerance Issues and Systems * VLSI Network Design * Telecommunication Network Design and Optimization * Wireless Networks and Mobile Computing * ATM Architecture and Networks * Internet Computing and Applications * Global Networking and Net Distributed Algorithms SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Please submit your complete paper to the Program Committee Vice-Chair whose track is most relevant to your paper's subject. The paper should not exceed 20 double-spaced pages of text using 12 point size type on 8.5 x 11 inch pages. Electronic submissions are encouraged and should be sent to the email address of the Vice Chair. Electronic submissions must be in the form of a readable postscript file containing the following header information in ASCII form: title, author name(s), abstract, postal address, e-mail address, and telephone and fax numbers. The header (in ASCII) should be followed by the postscript version of the complete manuscript (including title, author's name, affiliation, and abstract). Authors should submit a correct PostScript (level 2) file of their paper to be considered and make sure that the PostScript file will print on a PostScript printer that uses 8.5 x 11 inch size (letter size) paper. Hard copy submissions are also permitted. Send four copies of the manuscript to the appropriate PC Vice-Chair. The results presented in the paper must be unpublished and not submitted for publication elsewhere, including the proceedings of other conferences or workshops. One author of each accepted paper will be expected to present the paper at the conference. Proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press.
