Call for Papers Special Issue of Algorithmica on Network Design Editor: Lisa Zhang Algorithmic issues permeate every aspect of network design. The rapid advances in networking technology constantly create brand new design problems and add new twists to well-studied problems. In recent years a prolific body of work has been generated on the broad subject of network design. Some work seeks approximation guarantees for NP-hard problems, some focuses on optimal solutions to interesting special cases and some searches for heuristics that perform well in practice. This special issue of Algorithmica invites papers on all aspects of network design. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, * Resource allocation * Quality of Service (QoS) * Routing and flow control * Admission control * Fault tolerance * Content distribution * Optical networking Manuscripts should be prepared according to the normal submission requirements of Algorithmica. For submission, please send an electronic copy to the guest editor by December 31, 2003.
