Résumé:

Traditionally, ad hoc networks have been viewed as a connected graph over which end-to-end routing paths had to be established. However, it has recently been recognized that a number of emerging wireless networks must (or would be better off to) operate under intermittent connectivity. Under intermittent connectivity, a number of assumptions and well known protocols borrowed from the wired environment "break". Arguably though, one of the most challenging problems faced when end-to-end paths do not exist is that of routing. In this talk we'll explore the problem space of "mobility-assisted", opportunistic routing for intermittently connected wireless networks, and describe a family of protocols that manage to achieve very good performance in terms of both packet delivery and resource usage, under a large range of scenarios.
