IEEE 802.16 standards for wireless Metropolitan Area Networks (WMAN) include a mesh mode of operation for improving the coverage and throughput of the network. In this talk we discuss new efficient algorithms for routing and centralized scheduling for such networks. First we will provide algorithms that maximize the overall system performance. Then we will develop algorithms which provide QoS to individual real and interactive data applications. Performance of these algorithms will be verified via simulation.
