Handling sharp creases

If nothing is done to handle sharp creases they are not accurately represented in the mesh.

CGALmesh handles sharp creases through the method of protecting balls [Chend, Dey et al 07]

• Cover edges with protecting balls such that:
  • balls do not include other ball centers;
  • balls centered on different creases do not intersect;
  • no three balls intersect.
• Delaunay refinement uses a weighted Delaunay triangulation
  • initialized with protecting balls.
