Crystal structures of macromolecules abound, often presented as
THE structure of a protein. But we know proteins exist in an ensemble of
conformations that depend on the temperature and the energy landscape of their
congurational space. Work will be presented which addresses the variation in
conformation in proteins, its signicance, and the methodologies that we have to
explore this variation, including theorerical, computational, and experimental
approaches.
