This figure shows differences between the local (a), hybrid (b) and
global (c) deformation frameworks. A
surface model (blue rendered) evolves toward a reference
isosurface (black wireframed). In the rigid case (c), no shape variation of the model can
occur. In the local framework (a), both sides of
the model are attracted toward a single edge and the shape
flatterns. In the hybrid framework(b), we
obtain an intermediate behaviour: the model can localy deform
but the overall shape is better preserved (here, l = 20%).
