Development actions

Research teams have recourse to engineering services, provided their experimentations have reached a certain level of maturity, both from a theoretical and technical point of view.

An ADT (which stands for the french "Action de Développement Technologique") is the way engineers get involved in research teams to provide an expertise in terms of software development. More ...

Experimental platforms

An experimental platform is a consistent set of hardware and software dedicated to a research activity. A PFE is a tool shared by research teams or units.

PFEs are a part of D2T's mission. Dream, as a local representative of D2T is responsible for the local platforms coordination. They may involve either IJD (Ingénieur Jeune Diplômé) or IS (Ingénieur Spécialiste). More ...

Open Source Software contributions

The DREAM team sometimes has to modify and improve Free Software. When we consider these modifications to be of enough general interest and their quality to be good enough, we try to feed these modifications back into the original codebase. More...

Resources

The resources allocated either to a development action (ADTs) or an experimental platform (PFEs) can be of different nature.

  • Permanent engineers are members of Dream, affected when the project need either a deep architectural advice or present strong technical issues.
  • Specialists engineers are recruited with regards to their background in a very specialized theoretical field, as well as their technical skills.
  • Young engineers are recruited right after school and represent the most of available resources. The are always followed by a permanent research engineer.
