News about projects:

  • MIDAS is a 3 years project funded by ANR (French Research Agency) started in January 2008.
  • ARC SéSur is now over. I was responsible for this project. We talk (in French) about our results here. We obtained 6 papers in international conferences. We are still writing on the results obtained during this project.
  • Color Mutan is now over. I was responsible for this project. We obtained 2 papers in PAKDD'09, one paper in ACM SAC'09 and three in (French) EGC'09 conferences. We are still writing on the results obtained during this project.

Main edition activities:

Data Mining Patterns: New Methods and Applications

This book provides an overall view of the recent solutions for mining, and also explores new kinds of patterns. This book offers theoretical frameworks and presents challenges and their possible solutions concerning pattern extractions, emphasizing both research techniques and real-world applications (mining patterns, multi-relational and multidimensional pattern mining, fuzzy data mining, data streaming, incremental mining...)

IEEE Transaction on Multimedia: Special Issue on Multimedia Data Mining.

The twelve papers in this special issue focus on multimedia data mining. The special issue evolved from a successful workshop organized in conjunction with the 2006 ACM KDD conference, but the special issue was open to the whole community.

Successes and New Directions in Data Mining

This book addresses existing solutions for data mining, with particular emphasis on potential real-world applications. Capturing defining research on topics such as fuzzy set theory, clustering algorithms, semi-supervised clustering, modeling and managing data mining patterns, and sequence motif mining.

Multimedia Tools and Applications (Springer): Special Issue on Multimedia Data Mining.

The 6 papers in this special issue focus on multimedia data mining. The special issue evolved from a successful workshop organized in conjunction with the 2005 ACM KDD conference, but the special issue was open to the whole community.
