When ?
3 to 9 month visiting position between 2001 and 2005.
Who ?
The candidate must have a Masters in Elec. Eng., Computer Sc., Applied Math. or Stat. Physics and currently be a Ph.D. student in a non-French University.
How much ?
The allowance is 1 200 Euro per month (Marie Curie Fellowship) and flights are paid up to 100 Euro per month.
Technical requirements
  • knowledge of basic image processing, statistics or variational calculus;
  • development experience in C/C++ on Unix systems;
  • good English (both oral and written) is mandatory and a basic knowledge in French would be appreciated.
Description of the position
The successful applicant will be involved in research on remote sensing using stochastic or variational methods (see the Ariana web site). The work conducted in the Ariana research group at INRIA Sophia Antipolis should be coherent with the Ph.D. work of the applicant.

  • important analysis and synthesis capabilities;
  • initiative and autonomy.
Citizenship
The applicant should be an EU citizen (French citizenship excepted) or should be from a country which participates in the 5th EU Framework (Israel, Norway, Switzerland,...) or should be from one of the associated countries (Hungary, Bulgaria,...) or should have studied in the EU for at least five years at the time of his/her application.
