Image-dependant energy

The extraction of the road between two neighbor nodes is done by ELIESER (for details, see demo ELIESER).

Expression of the energy

$$U_i(x)=\sum_{d(x_i,x_j)=1} V_i(x_i,x_j)$$

The potential V_i(x_i,x_j) shows whether the road joining x_i and x_j, computed by ELIESER, has the characteristics of a real road.

The potential of a road section is computed as follows :

• We compute grey level mean and variance for two zones : the road and the background (neighboring zone),
• We make a test on those distributions, expressing their "distance",
• the potential is a function of the value of the test.

• black : road,
• grey : background.
