The subject of my internship is 3D reconstruction using "Shape from Shading".
The problem is modelized with a global energy function whose global minimum is
the optimal solution. A diffusion process in combination with simulated
annealing is considered to find this global minimum.
In a first part, I have to modify the energy function due to a change of the
underlying assumptions of the problem, i.e. switching from the orthographic
projection to the perspective projection camera model.
Furthermore, I will also evaluate some modifications to the optimization
process to increase the convergence speed.
