THE PROJECT FOR A CULTURAL CENTER
DEDICATED TO COMPUTER SCIENCES
HOW
Dumesnil's universal ruler
It is necessary to classify the center users into 2 main categories which
usually have different basic needs but may sometimes have similar ones.
These categories are: the professionals and the general public.
The common part of the museum will be the collection pieces which will tell
the history of the computer science technics.
There will also be temporary expositions which will concentrate on a specific
subject.
Some of these will be accessible to all and others more to specialists.
The part reserved for the professionals is very important in the conception of
the center and will therefore have to be original in its presentation.
It will be necessary for these users to have a place to meet, to work, to
exchange their ideas, to show their work and their results as well as their
objectives; this be in research, in production, in application and in teaching.
For the general public, shows, displays, guided tours and inter active games
will have to be set up.
The infrastructures which will house them will also need to contain a big
auditorium, specialized projection and conference rooms, as well as
restaurants, bars, nursery and play areas.
