Most production of goods and services processes make use of multi-computer systems,
distributed through communication networks with specific requirements in terms of performance,
in particular real time, reliability and availability. Such systems have to process large quantities
of complex, multimedia information.
INRIA studies and experiments on design methods for such systems, as well as the
tools for creating and evaluating them. The covered spectrum goes from very large
telecommunication networks to specific integrated circuits.
