COOP'98
is the
Third International Conference
on the Design of Cooperative Systems
(following on
COOP'95 and COOP'96).
It will take place in Cannes,
France, from 26-29th May, 1998.
The main assumption behind the COOP conferences is that cooperative systems design requires a deep understanding of the cooperative work of dyads, groups and organizations, involving both artefacts and social conventions. So we solicit a variety of contributions from the human and social sciences (e.g. Ergonomics, Management, Sociology, Cognitive and Social Psychology, Linguistics) and contribu tions from the engineering sciences (e.g. Distributed Artifi cial Intelligence, Knowledge Engineering, Human-Machine Interaction, GDSS, Control Systems,Computer Supported Cooperative Work). Contributions on such topics as analyses of complex work situations, and the elaboration of conceptual frameworks for understanding cooperative work as well as guidelines for modelling collective activities, methodological elements for cooperative system design, and innovative technological solutions-theoretical, and empirical are acceptable.
